"LAMTA is an exceptional institution. Working closely with the industry’s finest, LAMTA prepared me for what to expect from the industry, taught me how to become a disciplined professional and gave me an incredible amount of confidence as a performer. The studio spaces are world class and the kind of one-on-one attention from all my coaches showed incredible results in the development of my craft. What Duane and Anton have created is a safe space to explore the wonderful world of the performing arts - and then showcase that on the beautiful ‘Theatre on the Bay’ stage. You are guaranteed to have the time of your life - I know I did"

"To study at LAMTA might just be the most life changing decision any aspiring performer can make! One will begin the course a hungry aspiring performer, and leave, an artist, with a craft honed by world class professionals in an environment that is nothing less than exactly that, professional and world class! It’s not just an impeccably diverse and thorough course, but a spring board into the actual industry! Studying at LAMTA isn’t simply ‘dipping your toe in the water’ of what it’s like to be in the industry, it’s teaching you how to swim in an Olympic size swimming pool! After LAMTA, I feel truly empowered in my skills as an artist to make a living in this industry in more avenues than one!"

"I am constantly reminded of just how incredible the level of training I received from LAMTA is whenever I walk into an audition room. I walk in with confidence knowing that I have more than enough skill to stand out. I was equipped and encouraged to dream beyond the landscapes of South Africa and dominate international stages!! Grateful beyond comprehension."

"LAMTA has instilled in me all the qualities that I know will see me through the rest of my life: inner and outer resilience, discipline, resourcefulness, determination, honesty, punctuality, a creative mind, self-awareness, patience, empathetic understanding and most importantly, self-belief. After three years, I leave feeling ready and determined to curate a life teemed with fulfilment, growth, creativity and never-ending opportunities. I leave knowing that there will always be my LAMTA family, silently rooting for me wherever I may go. It has been three of the most intensive, yet rewarding years, but it only feels like the beginning"

"As jy suksesvol wil wees in die vermaaklikheidsbedryf van Suid-Afrika, is daar geen beter instituut as LAMTA wat jou sal toerus nie. Buiten die wêreldklas gehalte opleiding in alle aspekte van optrede, word daar ook omgesien na jóú persoonlike groei en ontwikkeling as mens en kunstenaar."

“During my time at LAMTA, Duane and Anton encouraged me to grow every aspect of myself — ranging from dancing, singing and acting, to clowning, puppetry, script writing, film work, and directing. They are experts at nurturing, shaping and inspiring creativity, as are all the lecturers who taught me. The opportunities for growth and learning at LAMTA were endless; such as performing on incredible stages, meeting and learning from industry professionals, and even performing for overseas directors. LAMTA is a unique experience for everyone, but my biggest takeaways were: understanding exactly how to prep for any audition, no matter the style; knowing how to keep myself stimulated and busy in the quieter periods of my career; learning how to use every acting tool that I acquired from Prof Chris Weare; and finding that nothing sets my atoms alight the way that expressing myself through performing does.”

Attending The Luitingh Alexander Musical Theatre Academy ( LAMTA) in Camps Bay has been a life-changing experience for me. As a passionate performer, I wanted a place that would not only challenge me but also nurture my growth, and LAMTA exceeded all my expectations. The faculty at LAMTA is exceptional, offering expert guidance in singing, dancing, acting, and musical theatre. Each lecturer is deeply invested in every student's individual growth, offering us the space to explore, develop and showcase our talents. Having small classes in each year group allows students to receive personalised attention, ensuring they absorb every bit of knowledge. The training is rigorous and not for the faint of heart. It’s a lot of hard work and will push you to your limits, but in doing so, it prepares you for the realities of the industry. If you're willing to put in the work, you will flourish, not only in the academy but in the industry as well. I feel fully

prepared to pursue a career in musical theatre. I am so grateful to have been a part of such a vibrant and supportive community at LAMTA, and I wholeheartedly recommend LAMTA to anyone looking to pursue their dreams in the performing arts!
